We're Celebrating Spring and the Special Women in Our Lives. Here in the UK, Spring is springing, we’ve just celebrated International Women’s Day, and Mothering Sunday is fast approaching (Sunday, May 27th). Although originally Mothering Sunday was a day to go back to your “Mother Church” (the church where you were baptised), it later became a day when domestic servants were given the day off to visit home and their own mothers. In Craft Coop, we know that almost everyone has a significant female in their lives, (even though they may not be their own mother), and we think it would be a lovely thing to do to celebrate the important women in our lives. We asked our followers what the best Mother’s Day gifts they’d received were – and we think they can be applied to just about any special person in your life. #1 A Special TreatA lot of you said that the best gift ever was when their children made them a cream tea, a cake or a roast dinner. We think this is a fabulous idea (and would certainly appreciate a homecooked dinner from just about anyone!). If you’re thinking of taking a special person to afternoon tea, or maybe making a special cake and eating it together with a cup of tea, this lovely tea caddy from Asma Khalid in our Windsor shop will be sure to remind them of a wonderful day with you. #2 A Walk TogetherDoing something together was by far the thing everyone said was the very best gift they could receive. Why not take a walk together and enjoy the glorious Spring weather? Here in Maidenhead, the daffodils are at their peak, the magnolias are blooming, and there are rumours that the bluebells are starting to bloom (surely that’s an entire month early?). If you do take a trip out to a bluebell woods, one of these mugs or prints from Chilterns Gifts in our High Wycombe shop would be a great reminder of a lovely day. #3 A Quiet Night InSometimes, all you really want is a nice quiet night in – reading a great book, sipping tea (or beverage of your choice……), with a nice fire – or one of these lovely candles from the Cookham Candle Company. You can find them in our Maidenhead and High Wycombe shops. #4 Say it With FlowersOK, it’s true, flowers are sort of conventional – and people were sad that they didn’t last very long. Our solution is one of these beautiful floral gifts – fused glass hearts from Hen on the Shore in our High Wycombe shop, fun crochet daisies from Nick’s Knits in our Windsor shop or this lovely spring meadow in fused glass from Esther Madden Glass in our Camberley and Windsor shops. #5 A Great Card Says it AllJust about everyone agrees – a specially made or chosen card with heartfelt words is top of the list. We have a great range of wonderful cards in all of our shops, and they are all blank inside for you to write a personal message the recipient will treasure forever. We hope these suggestions have helped a little. If you’re still stuck, we have a huge variety of truly one-of-a-kind gifts in all of our shops. Why not pop in and have a browse? Craft Coop shops are located in Maidenhead’s Nicholsons Centre, The Square in Camberley, The Eden Shopping Centre High Wycombe, and Windsor Yards in Windsor.
