Craft (noun):  a profession or activity involving the skillful making of decorative or practical objects by hand.

Coop (noun):  an enclosure or hut in which poultry is kept.

Craft Coop:  a virtual home for crafters;  an informal co-operative of like minded local craftspeople; a great way to buy and sell locally produced, hand-made items.


Craft Coop was conceived in 2009 by Teresa Mills, a mosaic artist based in Maidenhead, who wanted to reconnect the community with some of the beautiful products produced locally by skilled crafters.  For the next few years, Craft Coop worked closely with Happy Cakes, a small local business sharing the same ethos, to organise and promote pop up shops and craft fairs, and in 2011 Deborah Jones joined Teresa from Happy Cakes and the two continue to work to promote and support craftspeople from the local area.
